DISINFECTION
U.V. DISINFECTION
The main functions of U.V. disinfection are to combat chloramine, to sterilise water of germs and bacteria and to reduce ozone in systems that include this.
The U.V. sterilisation system is made up of a medium-pressure lamp and a radiation chamber in stainless steel with a reinforced glass edge.
It also has a motorised system for clearing the lamp protection tube.
OZONE DISINFECTION
Using ozone helps to drastically reduce the formation of chloramine or THM that occur in the traditional preparation of water.
Ozonisation is an element that should be compulsory for the preparation of swimming pool water.
It is the most powerful oxidising agent allowed in water preparation and is usually added before the filter.
Here, all undesirable water components, like chloramine and substances that make water cloudy, are oxidised.
A high concentration of ozone makes this action much more efficient, but it then needs to be removed and followed by a chlorine treatment.
The use of ozone in swimming pools has the following advantages:
- It conforms to legal disinfection parameters.
- It removes unpleasant odours from water, producing pleasant, healthy air in the swimming pool.
- It avoids the formation of germs in filters and the consequent danger of inflection.
- The clearness of the water increases notably, thanks to the flocculating effect of ozone.
